Mia's dance company had their Christmas recital and party tonight. It's their yearly fund raiser for St. Jude Children's Hospital. All the girls looked great and did a wonderful job. Of course we had to have Aunt Carley put our makeup on. Glittery eyes and hot pink lip gloss! Mia was so nervous before we got there that she was almost in tears! I don't know if it was the crowd or the stage, but we talked about how it was alright to be nervous and she'd be fine once we got there. I dropped her off backstage and she was feeling much better once she saw some of her friends. They were the last dance to go on stage, so I was praying the entire time that her nerves had subsided. Her group was one of the best ones to go on. After the recital I went to get her and she came out all smiles. She told me she wasn't nervous anymore after they got to watch a few of the other dances before theirs. Grandma, Pop, Carley, and Jeremy were also there to watch her. She had done the same dance a few weeks before at the local Christmas market, and Nana, Pop, and I saw her there, so Nana kept the boys for us. What a blessing that was! We had to be there at 5:45 and it didn't start until 6:30. They would have been bouncing off the walls! They had a little reception afterward and Mia got to see all her friends and wish them a Merry Christmas. We had a great ride home, talking about how nervous she had been, and how great she ended up doing! She said she can't wait until next time.
