Today was Mia's field day, and we are all exhausted. Parker, Everett, and I went to cheer on her and her class in all of their events. Mia ended up taking 4th in the sack race and 3rd in the boardwalk. It was cloudy and cooler, so the weather was perfect for being outside all morning. Parker quickly realized his pal Davis from school was there, so they hung out on the playground most of the day. The girls and boys are split for the events, so Everett tagged along with me and the girls. He loves Mia's friends and he let them carry him around most of the day. Of course we made lots of trips to the concession stand for drinks and snacks. Or the construction stand, as Parker says. Parker did finally take a break at the end to watch Mia's class in the tug-of-war. A lot of their classmates weren't there today and a few checked out before this event, so they lost pretty quickly. I think Parker took it hardest of all. He cried when they lost and talked about it all the way to the car. I hate to see what he'll be like in a couple of years when he's the one competing! Now if we can just make it through water day, 2 honor days, and a kindergarten assessment, we will be through for summer!
