It's All Happening at the Zoo

Spring Break was last week, and we wasted no time on having a little fun!  The Sunday before our week off we headed to the Birmingham Zoo with some friends.  The kids were all excited, as were the husbands since they got to tag along this time!  We got up early and cooked biscuits, eggs, bacon, and chocolate gravy for breakfast, then headed out for the zoo.  They were predicting rain for that afternoon, so we tried to pack in as much as possible before it started.  We did everything except the dinosaur exhibit before the rain hit, but it's supposed to be there until August, so we will definitely be back for that.

Mia, Lexi, and Everett mapping out our day

Lexi, Lorne, and Elin taking in the elephants

Feeding the giraffes!  This is all Everett had talked about doing, but when it came
down to it he didn't want to be that close.  He said he was "too little" to feed these animals!

Parker, Kane, and Lexi taking a break

What's a zoo visit without a train ride?
Kane and Parker

Lorne, Elin, Lexi, and Mia
To say Mia enjoyed having girl time would be an understatement

Jackson, Jeremy, and Everett
This ended up being Everett's favorite part of the zoo.
No surprise there!

Feeding the birds

Everett and Elin quickly decided this was not for them

We ended the day with the Sea Lion show

I think this picture sums up the day perfectly.
This was before we even got out of the parking lot!
